What's Included in the Dutch Cays Tour
Essential Logistical Requirement
The Dutch Cays expedition entails approximately 45 minutes of open ocean navigation each way from Pelicano Island. For guest safety and to ensure ideal sea and tidal conditions, it is exclusively offered to guests staying 2 or more nights in our cabins. It is not feasible during single-day trips or 1-night stays.
Why Visit Dutch Cays (Cayos Holandeses)?
Known as Maoqui in the native Guna language, Dutch Cays forms an outer barrier chain of 21 uninhabited islands and sandbars directly facing the open Caribbean Sea. Situated far from mainland runoff, visibility here frequently exceeds 30 meters (100 feet), showcasing monumental brain coral formations, giant sea fans, spotted eagle rays, hawksbill turtles, and thriving schools of tropical fish.
